Hidden Valley wins Charlotte Fire Department's Bulletin Board Contest

Hidden Valley Elementary won first place in the Charlotte Fire Department’s 29th annual Bulletin Board Contest. The school hosted a surprise awards ceremony Nov. 1 where it received a $1,000 check, a plaque, a party, student and teacher prizes and the traveling winner’s trophy for a year.

Third-grade students created a bulletin board focusing on this year’s National Fire Prevention Week theme: Not every hero wears a cape. PLAN and PRACTICE your ESCAPE. Each school submitted a photo of their board and a two-minute video where students showcased their entry and explained how they created it and how it tied in the theme.
